Enforcement

The Office of the Attorney General is the official child support enforcement agency for the State of Texas. An enforcement action is an action that is reasonable and suitable to bring about compliance with the requirements of a child support order.

Enforcement of a case is based on many factors.

  • The number of missed payments, or the balance on a case.
  • Ability to locate noncustodial parent.
  • Employer information or ability to pay.
  • Administrative remedies including but not limited to: Income withholding, Federal Offset Intercept, License Suspension and Lottery Intercept
