Request for Level 3 Inspection

If a caller requests a 'Level 3 inspection,' they must be transferred to the internal call center. A Level 3 inspection is required when a Level 1 or 2 inspector cannot locate a VIN using two points of verification. Because these inspections fall outside standard scheduling processes, they must be booked through an internal MVD site that we do not have access to at Altivus. If the caller doesn’t know the technical term 'Level 3', they may say something like 'I took my car to an office and they couldn’t find the VIN number so I’m needing an appointment for a police officer to do it' or something similar.

To ensure accurate appointment scheduling, all calls from customers requesting a 'Level 3 inspection' should be routed to the internal call center personnel:

  • Commercial Type: ***CDL-MVD***
  • Non-Commercial Type: ***General English*** or ***General Spanish***
