Steps
To use dual signature functionality:
- Assign the Case Manager user role to the assigned therapist.
- Review the user roles assigned to the assigned therapy assistant.
- Add license information to the therapy assistant.
1. Assign the Case Manager user role to the assigned therapist
To edit (or confirm) the case management role for the supervising therapist, from the supervising therapist's User Profile page:
- Click Edit on the toolbar, then select Roles from the submenu.
- From the Job Functions section, select the Case Manager checkbox, if it is not already selected.

- Click the Update Roles button.
2. Review the user roles of the assigned therapy assistant
To review (or confirm) the user roles for the assigned therapy assistant, from the therapy assistant's User Profile page:
- Click Edit on the toolbar, then select Roles from the submenu.
- From the Specific Rights section, Deselect (or confirm it is deselected) the Bypass Case Management user role.

Removing the Bypass Case Management role ensures that notes submitted by the assigned therapy assistant will not bypass the supervising therapist for co-signature. - Click the Update Roles button.
3. Add license information to the therapy assistant
Maintaining clinical license information for nurses, therapists, therapy assistants, and others enables license-based functionality, such as dual signature capability, throughout WellSky™. Therapy assistants must have a therapy assistant license, e.g., PTA or COTA, entered on their clinical license page; similarly, we recommend that supervising therapist license information, e.g., PT or OT, be kept current as well.
WellSky™ automatically sets the status of the tasks submitted by therapy assistants to Submitted with Signature to facilitate dual signature by the appropriate supervising therapist.
