Patient Communication Tasks allow you to communicate patient-related information and document it within the patient's chart. Use the "Send as K-Mail" option to send the text of the communication to those involved in the patient's care.
Steps
To complete a patient communication that has been assigned to you, from your HotBox:
- Click the Patient Communication task.
- Review the patient communication information.
- Select Send as k-mail to forward the communication text to selected recipient.
- Click Show/Hide Groups and/or Show/Hide Address Book to review k-mail recipients.
- Confirm (or edit) the Date of the communication.
- Select the associated physician name from the Physician drop-down menu.
- Enter the Communication Text.
- Electronically sign the note.
- Select Send as k-mail to forward the communication text to selected recipient.
- Click Submit to complete the task.
Results
- The task status is updated to "Completed".
- If the Send as K-Mail option is selected, the patient communication is sent via k-mail to selected recipients.
