Criteria for Transferring Calls to the Clinic Nurse Line: Only the Following Should Be Directed to the Clinic RN

Please refer to this article when determining whether a call requires a nurse line transfer.

• Order verification: Calls from imaging/lab partners or patients waiting at the lab.
• Active homicidal or suicidal patient – Immediate attention required. 
• Critical lab orders – Urgent lab results that need prompt review. 
• Imaging or external lab verbal orders – When a provider needs to authorize a verbal order. 
• Provider to provider calls
